Regeneration starts here
The transformation of Elephant & Castle
Change is already underway. Several new low rise, private residential units have completed or are under construction at the Elephant, with more planned. Government funding is in place for the regeneration plans and the London Borough of Southwark has just announced a consortium of developers for the regeneration programme in 2007.
Such an opportunity will only happen once. Elephant & Castle’s accessibility and up-and-coming status, combined with Strata’s high quality design, premier views and its significant position in the core regeneration area make this a powerful investment opportunity.
No other London regeneration scheme is situated so close to central London. And no other development promises quality accommodation in a landmark building at such attractive prices.
Elephant & Castle’s regeneration highlights include
The London Borough of Southwark has masterminded a spectacular and radical regeneration programme that by 2014 will transform what has been a somewhat unloved and overwhelmed area into an exciting, vibrant and distinguished quarter of central London.
The £1.5 billion, 170-acre plan includes the creation of a new pedestrianised town centre, market square, green spaces and thousands of new homes and jobs.
With the selection of the London Borough of Southwark’s development partner in July 2007, the regeneration is now truly underway.
- Demolition of existing shopping centre, housing estates and roundabouts
- New pedestrian-friendly town centre
- 5,300 new homes
- 75,000m2 of modern retail and leisure facilities
- Two new parks
- Two new schools, including a City Academy
- Improved transport interchange
- Zero carbon growth development
